Removing wheel centre caps

Although I've done this before I thought I'd ask if anyone has a trick way of removing the centre caps to replace them with the newer ones, without removing the wheel, and without damaging the rim by jamming a screwdriver between them?

Fanders got my lovely Range Rover centres... Big Cry

Cheers Thumbs Up Discovery 4 HSE

I dont know how to do it, but it must be possible as a couple of months ago some tea leaf managed to remove mine whilst my car was on the driveway overnight... (they got 3 of them - the nearside wheel must have been too close to the fence)

No visible damage to my wheels. Wouldnt have minded, but a new set from eBay is only about £15 (might not be LR but you'd never know) 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

It was in my useful pieces of junk box.
It's just a standard clear plastic sucker that happens to have a metal threaded rod sticking out the back hence the pliers.
A sucker you could tie a piece of string to would work.
Just looked I have a spare one if you need it.

That's what I did using a thin tool from my Leatherman. No damage whatsoever. Si. <This is my name.
