Indeed it was. A very different Bristol Olympus to the ones powering the Vulcan. They increased air flow by making the insides smaller (very clever) and added reheat. The result was twice the thrust. It was the same engine for the TSR2.

More for the pub quiz - Olympus engines were designed for the TSR2 programme, they were also the boost engines for the Type21 frigate. |

Back on track now: Progress has been made today, I managed to devote most of the weekend to detailing the car's exterior. For some reason, the car doesn't feel properly 'mine' until I have done this, so I wanted to get it done ASAP.

I've got my first long drive in it at the weekend to Norfolk so next week I'll do a little comparison summary of the 3.6TDV8 and the 5.0 SC, and also a little bit of 4.2 comparison in there for good measure. Discovery 4 HSE
