My MOT is due at the end of the month, so I'm taking the opportunity for a service and some preventitive maintenance!

I bought the car with a full Main Dealer service history 12 months ago and had it serviced at Guy Salmon Stockport (convenient more than anything else). They didnt impress and Williams seem uninterested on the telephone (and both are far too expensive!!), hence I'd rather find an indy who cares about their reputaiton and that I can trust!

List of work which needs doing below - recommendations please!!

Full Service
MOT (due 30th June)
Inspect and replace rear brake lines as required (advised corroded when serviced by a Main Dealer last year)
Inspect and replace both rear shock absorbers as required (both showed signed of having leaked oil when fitting new tyres recently….)
Replace rear upper and lower hub bushes
Check front upper/lower arm bushes, droplinks and ARB

Grease gear selector linkage
Change fluid in front/rear diffs and transfer box

Read error codes and to find out which wheel sensors are causing an intermittent TPMS problem, if required fit replacement sensors (I have four spare sensors) If still not working correctly, turn off! 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

Green Oval in stockport are reportedly very good, although they tend to do more older LR's they are fully capable with the new ones and are always fully booked 2-3weeks in advance  FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I use AJR in Oldham, Ask for Allister. They do loads of RR in the area and have all the right tools, they have done my previous car for the last 5 years and I never had a problem with their work and they charge about 1/2 main dealer prices.

If you're willing to travel I can recommend Nicolsons at Bixter Garage in Shetland.

I'll go along with pld118 - I use Stratstone Bury and Barrie is always helpful, as are the service staff. They always try to do me a good deal when I need work done, also, I have the 3yr service plan (which includes free MOTs) which works out at £186 per service (incl vat).
Must be good if PLD118 is in Falkirk and travels all the way to Bury to have his car looked at!!! Steve

I got a quote from the local independent specialist in Bury for an oil and filter change and pollen filter change as well as a health check as I'm going to pick the vehicle up this week.

Anyway, based on one of the posts above, I emailed Barrie at the official Land Rover dealer in Bury and they've agreed to match the price! Going to get booked in next week.

Very happy with the work - full service (inspection 2), MOT, new rear brake lines (advisroy at last main dealer service, quoted over £500 to replace!), investigate TMPS (initially fixed by clearing error codes, 2 weeks later it has broken again ), investigate air con pressure loss and rear door leak - all for £600

Car is running perfectly, I'll certainly be using AJR again  2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!
