Struggled.......... set out to change all the fluids on f & r diff, transfer box and gearbox - all went perfect until the gearbox - filler plug had been damaged by some muppet using the wrong size key last time around - took flamin ages to get it off, just as well bought new plugs/seals all round as knew at least one would be a bandit. Next issue was one sump pan nut wouldn't budge either - got there in the end though.........bit swearing, brute force and skint knuckles! Have left it overnight to drain and tomorrow its strip it down the sump pan and see whats in there (bit worried but hey ho) and then new filter, gasket, refill and fingers crossed.

According to the pile of invoices with the service hsitory all of these fluids were changed about 35k ago and they all looked like they had seen better days.

All the info on the forum been a great help - never have tackled this job on my own without it. Neighbour is an absolute star too, as Ive got the use of his ramp and workshop - cant imagine trying to do without the ramp. BE a few tinnies getting left for him tomorrow!

Fixed the reverse camera - Dicky connection but the picture is covered in nasty lines so I think the camera unit is shot. I'll grab a replacement from the bay and sort that another time.
Re-positioned the rear window wiper to the correct parking position.
Sorted the tyre pressures from the previous owner's crazy 40psi front 34psi rear.
Fished out the old pay and display tickets from between the windscreen and dash top. 2006 FFRR 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE

Same as the ones I already have so I don't need the brackets, but I smashed mine whilst offroading

Checked the engine and transmission software was up-to-date. Then mapped the powertrain with an Alive map from Gary. Mr. Green

Netherlands 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Santorini Black

Drove back home from Spain for 1800 km... Again lots of rain in Southern France for about 6 hours of the trip but all in all a great ride and very comfortabel in the FF!!! Experienced such bad rain that cars were stopping on the highway, they wouldn't dare to pass trucks due to the amount of water on the roads which they would throw up against passing vehicles. Traffic reduced speed to 30 km on the highway and some just pulled over... We didn't feel unsafe in the FF for a bit and due to sitting in a higher position then normal vehicles we still were able to drive and see where we were going. SWMBO really enthusiastic about the ride in the FF as well... Bow down Bow down her words (which of course are very important) "it can stay..." Mr. Green

Downside, all the speed cameras in France and the fact we have seen several police officers in cars and on motorbikes during the ride down and back home hiding behind trees, billboards, etc. also using laserguns. Have to be really carefully not to cross the speed limit. Even worse then in the Netherlands!!! In the end took 18 hours for 1800 km including re-fueling and breaks... Filled the tank in Luxemburg for only 1,19 Euro per liter diesel... Nice!!!

Fault errors which I encountered when I arrived in Spain haven't returned despite mileage in Spain and driving back home again yesterday so hoping it was just a clitch in the system. Mike.

Jacked car on a 3 tonne trolley jack, figured safer than the poxy in car one...

Slipped off jack, as teeny wheels rolled an inch...

Spent 4 hours removing running board, and straightening in a vice as it was all bent Sad Alcohol and eBay is never a good mix

Fabulous drive today

Finally took some time out to get the recently repaired rear quarter window re-tinted. I try to avoid the motorways as the more backroads make for a far more enjoyable drive and took the A3/A31/A32 from London to Southampton. What a truly amazing drive today, in love wi the A32.

Love this Landy more every time I get behind e wheel. If you don't get stuck then you are not trying hard enough.

Just changed my 'chrome-over-ed' vents for a set of 3 fin plain grey ones. With the grille also non-chrome, the FF looks a whole lot better !

IMO, of course. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who like chrome on everything. Thankfully, most of them drive Ecoques
