Sometimes you find that by clearing one ECU on the network of faults creates another issue because another ECU can no longer see it. In other words occasionally you will find clearing codes can create issues elsewhere. Perhaps this happened here?

You have to think of the CAN BUS as one entity rather than many separate ECU's. Confused

Do you know if it makes a difference when you do the lock to lock with the doors open or closed since when this started I did the lock to lock with the door open and it did not do the trick. When I later tried it again with the door closed it did... Weird, coincidence or what... Question Mike.

WSIR, thx for elaborating on this... Appreciate your insights on this!! Will try to read and learn more on the ECU's and CAN BUS to better understand it all in the bigger picture. Mike.

Doubt it is related. That sort of thing (Body control) will tend to be on another slower network. Your issues were on the High Speed CAN. Sorry but the 06MY is a little difficult to deal with as it was a real cross over year with the networks changing from BMW to the more traditional High/Medium/LIN/MOST Bus we know today. Shocked all Abracadabra to me at this point... Need to do a lot of reading to better understand the systems in the FF... Mike.

I'll see if I can find some diagrams at work to scan next week.

Suspension will not function with the doors open, so it kind of makes sense that it will not reset with the doors open... Previously..
