I just drove the girl to Switzerland today going trough Germany. I was not aware that the TDV8 had a speed limiter at 130 mph. Is this normal? Is it a case of RTFM?

Yes the TDV8 is limited to 130 mph or 200 Km/h, indeed it is in the manual  l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

I have one of those for the remap from BAS did never check for anything else other than the remap. Better do some reading when I am back home!

The official speed limit is 125 mph, so unlimiter mayonly offer 5 extra mph, staying in the secure zone.

I know the BAS bax tune offers a bit of extra mph but this is not the point of the Bas Box: it gives you Torque and power.

The Rangie can go faster, but it is not meant to, especially if you are not used to driving such a barge at +130 mph: the overall handling is not one of a sport/touring car..., cornering and breaking will differ at 140 from what one is used to at say 100. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

On the autobahns I've found hardly any differences in handling between 90 and 145ish. You be mad to try and take it round any kind of bend at those speeds though.

Straights become bends at those speeds.

3.6 TDV8 is limited to 200 km/h (speedo would show a little over 130 mph); 4.4 TDV8 is limited to 130 mph and the needle doesn't go any further.

Presumably the Supercharged was allowed 140 mph to keep a performance advantage on paper; the 4.4 TDV8 certainly feels like it wants to keep going past 130.

FFS people - the limit is due to the tyre/weight combo. Oddly they don't tend to make truck tyres rated over 120/130mph ....  Land Rover Addict

My Continental tires are V rated = 149 mph
The FF is very planted at speed on the autobahn. No problem to drive fast even on bends.
I don't think it matters much that the speed is restricted to 130 mph (speedo) as the opportunities to drive at that speed are very few.
It was just curiosity to see what it would do full throttle.

Doesn't the suspension lower a little once driving over 100MPH for more than a few seconds?
Kind of remember reading something about it, maybe called Motorway mode or similar?
Increasing stability by lowering the centre of gravity?
