I did mine today, looky here, very pleased, use spray rather than brush, finish is superb, like new.

I think bush reference was "Wire Brush" to clean before spraying |

I brushed the Hammerite as it was all I had to hand. Spraying looks like it would have been better. Geoff |

I masked off the label on the armature, and the bolt heads. Then just used a piece of cardboard as I went around to shield the over spray potential.

That's it! I'm off to Halfords for a tin of spray too! I suddenly am really conscious of my faded / silver showing exhaust box!

I doubt that back box gets very hot, but its probably best to use Stove paint Discovery 4 HSE

Changed it for Hammerite High Heat Matt Black Spray (and the guy in Halfords never charged me the extra for it/ just said forget the extra as was too much hassle to swap and change on til!) |
