You have all the doors shut when trying the compressor? |

No LED's means hard fault. Req a dealer, RAC, hawkeye, faultmate etc to reset. Once this is done you will be sorted for all heights. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

What did they try and clear it with and what was the exact fault? |

I use this and have never had a problem clearing faults, excellent for diagnostics to.

Iv'e no idea what they used when trying to clear the fault. They are a good outfit, it's Green Oval in Leeds. However i would have preferred it if they would have explained that i may risk having the suspension sagging down should the re-set fail.

Back to basics, have you checked the fuses and compressor relay?

Was the compressor working (albeit lazily) before you replaced the ring? |

It wasn't really working but it was held at the right height. Did jack it up at the front causing it to sag but it levelled itself out again after a few mins. Now it's completely knackerd, it appears I've made it worse by taking it to bits even though I replaced the piston ring and gave it all a good general clean up.

It's interesting you got the compressor to work for a few seconds after removing the relay. I assume this is the first time you have got the compressor to activate since you dismantled it

It's a 50A relay, not sure there is another one on the car.
