Google Westfalia and search through the list of approved towbar suppliers.

They all appear to be matching each others prices - approx £350 for complete kit - 2 part detachable (same type that LandRover fit) - They reckon that you can fit yourself and can deliver within 24hrs.

Check that it is for 2007 spec L322 ( 2 different types for earlier/later L322's)

I have also been looking for a towbar - thinking I might be able to get one cheaper on eBay - but secondhand they are selling for same price as the suppliers are selling them new! Confused

Let me know if you find them selling for less elsewhere Thumbs Up

I had one made:

Cost about £15 in material, I bought the square tube cut to length (but I made it a bit shorter) then the drop plate I bought from motofactors along with the pin that locks it into the car and the tow ball although you can buy them in Halfrauds or on eBay.

Towed my 1750KG C'van 500 miles with no problem and I tow a small trailer 3 or 4 times a week with it at the moment

I see you were thinking the same Thrasher.

Although a tow bar like that may be fine, I'd be too scared to use it as the police inspection would not be very polite in the event of an accident...

I had an issue with a trailer two years ago. It flipped over onto it's side (with a Defender on it) and I was lucky to just end up with the back of my Defender lifted off the ground.

The police went through the car and trailer in minute detail.

The Genuine Parts towbar for the two MYs differs just on where the rear silencer hangs. The mounting points between the two MYs is about two inches further back on the early cars and the exhaust rubbers bolt onto the towbar itself.

No idea if the non-gen stuff requires this difference? Not sure you should be reading this bit.
