Looking at this....




Im thinking that its possible the line from the Fuel Rail to the input into the HP could be the leaking in point or the secondary pipe into the HP pump.

If it is would the use of some goodyear branded braided rubber fuel line be upto the job until a new part is ordered? I know its from a BMW site but the parts will be the same at the point in the system i imagine and an i have no access to my RAVE and bits at work Sad

Also could explain the heat part that as the fuel is colder and thicker it can't seep in our out as easily but once the 1/3 has got upto temp by being compressed after about 20mins of driving it will be a lot warmer, hence why a lot of common rail diesels have a fuel cooler with the LR not being an exception i dont think Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

kingpleb, dont think it could be drawing air into the fuel lines because they are all pressurised beginning at the in tank pump and would leak fuel out rather than draw air in. all the other pipes are return ones and go back to the tank so i wouldnt imagine they would have any effect on anything. doesnt biodiesel react with standard rubber fuel lines? could be something to do with that. pretty sure the manual says you cant run on it???? another possibility with it being heat related is the pistons in the high pressure fuel pump seizing up then freeing off when it cools down. you would be best to get it checked on diagnostics equipment to see if it can give you any clues as to where to start looking. could save a lot of time. '04 td6 se

That's the problem it feels like air being drawn in Sad

I have to phone land ranger in the morning as they are local and today has seen me spend most of it with a phone glued to my head sorting things out at work Sad

Well initial fault codes when the engine was cold but my catching during startup are
P0191
P09F6

Though it looks like the 6th injector is possibly at fault as its values on one screen are at max and the others are compensating it back to try and avoid the knock.

Well its the 6th injector Sad

Also the diagnostic showed the 2nd worst is the 5th but is miles behind so I now need to source a new or refurb injector and then get the pulled injector refurbished Sad

W88dy where did you get yours for £105 and was it exchange??

Conclusion as well is the BioD will have had no effect on it failing. Its well documented that the BMW models with the same engine tend to last 70-80k before at least one fails Sad FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Just had a quote of £85 for a refurb injector with 12month warranty for £65 exchange or £85 outright so will get the first one out tonight and do it on exchange and do the same with the 5th injector as well Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

See how quick and easy was that after a CODE CHECK.....

No point in faffing with the fuel lines at all.

Lesson for everybody get a Test book or Auto Logic scan before you touch it.... Thumbs Up

(Cheap OBD2 readers will not read the hidden codes)
