Just resurrecting this thread as yesterday I lost my navigation, GPS has a red line through it (I was suddenly in the sea as opposed on land!). Running the 753 diagnostics shows the satellites but no signals being received and the self test says all ok so I think my GPS antennae may be goosed. Co-incidentally the hands free phone kit with the phone installed can't find any network either? Any thoughts apart from my own conclusion? |

the roof mounted pod has both the gps and phone antenna so its faulty cabling or the unit itself..

Did the new antenna resolve your problem?

New sharkfin from Ducky Dan was about £60 ex-VAT and yes it solved my problem. Turned out moisture had ingressed between the seal where the antennae meets the roof and over the last few years and I think that goosed the internals or the cables. It's a simple enough job to do but take care with the headlining (I had a mate support it whilst working) as creasing it looked a possibility - not much room to work but if you are half useful with a spanner and take care it is straightforward. Couple of bolts and clips is all. |
