Is there a straight forward route to run some wiring from the engine bay into the cabin / accessible behind the dash somewhere? .

i remember someone saying that there's a route from behind the battery through into the glove box area and i think the glove box has to be dismantled...... ... - .- -.

is this for your possible fogs-in-grill project, if so you could wire up to the existing fogs with a relay.. ... - .- -.

Nada, just on the resistors to prevent dash alert.

you could wire up the main spots to your main headlight switch [with relay] and use the fog switch for the blue leds... ... - .- -.

Not got to this yet SATVC, too cold and too much work on at the moment. Some free time coming up end of March. .
