i think you are spot on re the battery..best place to purchase a replacement would be EuroCarParts, bosch type 020 is what you need and there are discount codes in the 'ebay and bargain spots' section.. ... - .- -.

Was this with the engine running? You should be seeing in the region of 14V across the battery with the engine running, so long as the charging circuit (alternator/rectifying diode etc) are all doing there job. 12.1V across the battery with ignition off is quite normal. battery charged (now at 12.67v) - didnt make any difference even after a reasonable drive..

Ah, have the lights come back on on the centre console ? Are you still getting a "bong" and message of Air Suspension Inactive? If lights are on and no bong, the car could have recovered itself.
