My mate told me about a bit of waste land near his house a few months back, saying as we've had a couple of weeks without much rain, me and my mate decided to go and have a look. Only got a couple of pics though.

I had a walk round the top end, but there were a few very deep ruts that I probably wouldn't have cleared, also as I'm a total off road novice, I didn't really fancy trying it until I've had some experience somewhere else.

This is the place here..

Also took a quick video, but it really doesn't show how steep or how uneven the ground was. I'll try uploading it in a bit. 2006 Mercedes CLS

England 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Buckingham Blue

Your ride looks sweet!

But you have just cost me the best part of 600 quid as I was recently thinking about 19s and a set of MT/Rs. After looking at your car my mind has been made up!!

One question...how are they on the tarmac? Noisy? Less mpg?

Cheers,

David

Cheers mate, mpg hasn't really been affected, but then the car barely moves during the week so I couldn't say for definite on day to day use. But when I do use the car, it's pretty much the same as with road tyres.

Road noise has increased, not drastic, but you can hear a slight whirring sort of noise at motorway speeds, a bit like a rolling road/dyno slowing down, (thanks to my mate who summed it up as that) but the RR is so well sound proofed, you don't notice it really.

A couple of shots from when me and my mate scrapped the Volvo 940 donor car for his 2.3 turbo engine swap into his Volvo 360. Probably nothing legal about the whole thing considering the boot of the Volvo was crammed full of all the interior plastics, bumpers, bonnet and a whole load of other stuff that was being scrapped, there was no catch on the boot lid either hence the masking tape keeping it closed Laughing Luckily, it was only about a mile down the road and the roads were pretty quiet.

My mate said it was a bit intimidating being towed by the Range Rover, just incase the solid bar, (which is on it's last legs thanks to another mate who borrowed it and kindly lost all the fixings and bent one of the hooks) gave up and ended up with 2 tonne of Volvo wedged in the back of it

Quick pic of the day running lights enabled via nav coder, set to 35% brightness, looks different, unsure if I'll keep them on though.

It's one of the options on Nav Coder for configuring the Light Control Module. I just bought the USB lead that plugs in line with the TV module then enabled it on the programme.

You can set the brightness between 25% and 50% but I think 35% looks about right when comparing it to Mk6 Golfs/cars that use halogen DRL's 2006 Mercedes CLS

Very nice car, lovely colour also. Don't like green on any other cars apart from RR's. Also, the first picture taken infront of the warehouse building is really good. A couple of years ago and it could have passed as a picture you would find in a brochure.

Gave the car it's first proper wash and wax of the year today, it desperately needs a full clay bar and machine polish, but that can wait for warmer weather.

Quick run through of what I did.

Jet wash first to remove the loose dirt

Bilberry safe wheel cleaner left for 5 mins to soak in, then scrubbed then rinsed. There were a few yellow stains on the wheels from brake dust so I sprayed a little wonder wheels on there, I hate using it as it's very harsh but did the trick.

First pass with the snow foam and left to run off

Rinse with the jet wash.

2nd pass with the snow foam and full top to bottom work over with the wash mit

Rine again

Dry

Wax (Porboys Natty's Paste Wax, smeels lovely, tastes horrible!)

Tyres dressed and wheels a quick coat of wax.

Stand back and admire, then wash the 2 vans Laughing

Pics.. (sorry, crappy iphone pics)
