Hi all,just been driving down from Bicester and the engine management light flashed and came on.whenever I put my foot down I had little or no response from the car.at low speed seems ok.i had tied to do kick down to overtake and nothing happened.im running a 4.4 v8 2003 l322 on LPG.this is probably a bit vague in description just wondering if anyone had ideas.also I'm in Southampton does anyone know a good garage I could pop into to have the engine read by the gizmo they use to diagnose issues.kindest regards in advance to anyone who replies. Sounds like the car went into limp mode.
Did you try and stop the car then restart it.

Can you run the car without LPG ? And see if it clears, I'm not sure if you can do that as I've never had LPG

I havent tried to run without LPG ,will give it a go in the morning.i did stop and fuel up,both LPG and petrol .the light came back on and has stayed on ever since.

It came on withe ignition and stayed on.

There are a few specialists in Southampton when you do a google search.
Sorry can't recommend any but i think you've just got to go with who's open tomorrow.

The lpg has prob killed one or both cats and maybe an O2 sensor, if its killed the rear sensors not too much of a problem if its the fronts it will be, you need to plug a decent diagnostic machine on and monitor the O2 sensors, mine has no cats and the rear O2 sensors play up, we have sonme kit that can remove the rear sensors from the ecu, will get on it after xmas and report back. One day your life will flash before your eyes......................................make sure yours is worth watching!

Does LPG kill cat converters then? When I start mine when it is cold there is a rattling noise, someone said it sounded like a cat converter. It does not do it as bad when warmed up, can I do away with them, or is it best to replace them? Gone:

I have been driving on LPG since late 2000. 3 SAABs (2 turbo charged) and a P38. Never had any problems with the catalytic converters or the Lambda probes and certainly no ill effects from running on LPG. Exhausts last a great deal longer on LPG and I would expect the catalytic converters to do so too. 1998 RR 4.6 HSE lpg
