I thought if the pump was on its way out, the system tried to get to the new suspension height you'd requested, and times out after a few mins, then shows a message.

You would have to look at fault codes. It could be all kinds of issues. Small leak in an airbag, the compressor needs overhaul, a valve sticking a bit, temperature (overheating) sensor starting to kick in or malfuction, leak in a hose etc. etc.

Hi, I cycled the car through all the heights positions and it worked fine.

The compressor re-build is not too bad, either the "cheap" way or use the kit Meerbusch is selling. If that is it. If it is airbags, it is a bit more expensive (I just replaced both front struts on mine). But it could also be a simple air hose leak/connector loose. I suggest to get the fault codes read to see what that indicates. And maybe also jack it to off-road height, switch everything off and listen for leaks (in a quiet area/garage). I'd barter and quote the cost of a new compressor, then get a repair kit from Meerbusch |

I had a similar experience shortly after having bought mine (also an '06 MY car - which I believe have a different compressor to the earlier cars).
