Rear Camera swap

I've got a 2007 and the rear camera is at best OK. I just bought SWMBO a new Nissan Juke (keep your comments to yourself) and the rear camera is loads better. I've read on here people swapping rear cameras but is there a clear performance improvement and what would I need. I will be fitting a new seal in the rear wiper this week or next and so it would make sense to kill two birds etc...
I fairly nifty with a soldering iron so plug changes etc are no problem and I can drill a reasonable hole and make body mods if needed glueing things back together with epoxy.
This is a bit like changing to the flip key from my early 2007 none folding jobbie- needs CLARITY!!
Cheers and thanks for any sensible help Thumbs Up Geoff

I got some improvement from replacing a MY2006 with a My2012, but the problem is that the screen zooms the image regardless of camera year, and this makes it look grainy

Ive a 2012 one in mine and its ace!

You would need to re-wire the two plugs and drill a new hole to re-locate the camera further to the right.

You even get parking lines too! Razz

The parts (camera + mount + loom) came from Dan@Duckworths Thumbs Up

For me, it wasn't a straight forward fit ... because the old loom didn't plug straight into the new one Confused (I'm sure if unlike me, you're reasonably electrically / mechanically minded it won't be too bad)

I ended up cutting the plugs off both looms and joining them http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic14197.html?highlight=camera

Although I'm not suggesting you do this, and hopefully someone will be along and tell you how it should be done Whistle

The camera mount on the spoiler, again is slightly different, but not too bad a job with a bit of time and effort.
