Top Dash Speaker Grille Removal

If you have managed to remove the speaker grille from the centre of the dash top, how the hell did you do it ?

RAVE says carefully release the clips............

But mine won't budge, and I've a feeling the corner of the grille is going to bend up and at least crack all the paint the grille is painted with.

Do you do the clips from underneath ? ie slide something flat inbetween the top of the dash and the bottom of the leather dash top, if you see what I mean.........pushing the clips from below.

It ain't gonna end well........... Rolling with laughter 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

No worries Stan. I've watched the videos, and stared at RAVE, but they don't change what they say !

Mmmm it ain't just popin' out....... that's my issue I think.

I'm sort of protecting the dash top and trying to lever it up with a cake slice........ I knew it'd come in for something...... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Hmmm......I had mine of two nights ago and it did just pop up at the front edge. To be fair......it did take a bit of effort to get it to lift. Once the front edge is up you continue to lift it as it seems to sort of hinge along the back edge.....so don't try to lift it all the way round.

My grill was stuck down very solidly by ill placed sound deadening material from underneath. In retrospect, I think that the fact that the car stood in the hot sun for a while (and softened the glue) before I started to work on it prolly saved my grill from damage. Still, it was a fight. Neutral

i used a wide flat blade thing to lift it and spread the force. I found a thin screwdriver would cause it to bend a little ( too much force in a single place ) V8 or else ...

Many thanks.

I'll have another prod at it over the weekend.

Cheers
