Hi,

Thank you.

After 7 years with RRS's, I actually wanted a "car" again and I was ready to by an Audi RS5, but my wife insisted that we "needed" a 4x4. I was going to wait for the new RR, but the offer on the Westminster was so good, I couldn't really refuse it. I'm sure it will be a great car, although I've only driven one a very short distance so far.

I'll stick with the Cobra for my "sports car" thrills. Thumbs Up

Didn't you have an Aston for a while?

Paul

Just got my first Rangey an 07 TDV8 last Thursday and got back from London today with it fully facelifted to 2012 spec.

What an awesome truck wish I had got one sooner.

United Kingdom 2003 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Santorini Black
Newbie from Bedford

Hi All,

A proud new owner of a 2003 FFRR TD6 Vogue here, so just dropping in to say Hi.

I've been searching the net for some background to the FFRR and I have some knowledge gaps that you may be able to help me with please.......

TD6 - when a FFRR is referred to as a TD6, is that ALWAYS the 2926cc BMW engine? Or was the BMW 2993cc lump ever used later on?

Automatic gearbox - my understanding is that the early TD6 started life with a GM 'box. Did that change to a ZF later on or do all TD6's have the GM shifter? If it did change to ZF when? And how superior is it?

(I am aware that the V8 used the ZF from new)

All views welcome!

Cheers,

Steve 2003 TD6 Vogue

Hi SteveBedford, welcome aboard Smile

TD6 always the 2926cc M57 BMW engine
TD6 always the GM 5L40E gearbox .

I took delivery of my new TDV8 Westminster on Tuesday. It's surprisingly different to my previous RRS TDV8 and much more refined, although I'm missing the V8 growl from my old Larini exhaust system.
The quality of finish is miles better and it is so much quieter and smoother.
Fuel consumption so far is about 4mpg better than the RRS in spite of being a bigger engine and car.
I'll take some pictures tomorrow and post them up.

Paul

Sorry Lloyd I didn't put 2 and 2 together. Smile

I'd had RR Sports for 7 years and I was ready to replace the RRS TDV8, but they're no longer available as a TDV8 and I didn't want to go back to a TDV6.
I got a good deal on the Westminster as a run-out model. It's lovely to drive and the 4.4 TDV8 engine is a peach. Also, the quality of fit and finish is a few rungs up the ladder from the from the original RRS's.

Paul
