If I was local to you, I'd take you for a spin! Maybe worth seeing if a friendly forum member is near you. Don't be put off by the naysayers, they can cruise well at speed, but a chip upgrade is very worthwhile. Buy on condition / service history and don't be put off by higher mileage cars.they are heavy beasts, so suspension components are more like regular service items, just don't buy the cheapest parts and you'll be ok. Remember that people tend to post about problems only! (Don't check my previous posts)!! |

Mine has a Tunit box, fitted by the previous owner, pulls great & not too slow! Remember it weighs the same as a small moon ! |

also I have been told 18" wheels are the best for ride, does anybody know what the standard 18" wheels were?

As per my profile , mines a 2002, I run std. In winter 22's in better weather, I'll post pics of my 18's tomorrow if its any help ? |

The engine is pretty much bomb proof but the gearbox is the weak link. A power tune or chip may put a bit of extra strain on the box.

thanks for the info and photos chaps, I'm looking for a 4x4 that will cover big distances with a relaxed drive and loads of comfort so they sound ideal,
