hi, looks like there not a prob to talk about sat nav disc, remember if your car is pre 05 you will have a mk3 ...cd based and not the mk4 dvd unit, so the upgrade will not work nor will the map.. i have v3.2 with the landrover logo and 2009 map, works 100% dvd, i am doing a new splash for my FFRR .
If you buy an upgrade disc for the mk3 cd unit make sure you have a good product key as it will ask you for this after the update is complete and i have heard that you can lock your unit up if you dont have it...

THESE ARE THE TWO SPLASH SCREENS I HAVE

Still confused re my bog standard 2007 Sat Nav:

1: Is there a firmware update iand if so by Dealer or Purchased DVD?
2. Is there a Maps update and if so can I just get the latest available for 2009/10?

1. Yes, the firmware update is on the Map disc, just insert it and it will prompt you to upgrade... or you can go to the hidden menu ( hold your finger next to the nav screen at top for about 5 seconds, a number pad pops up, then input the code 134679, and the menu pops up...in here you can check the version, and force an upgrade.) Remember that the upgrades are on each and every nav dvd, so the latest 09/10 has the latest release. My car is the 2007 MY, and had a really old version of software, the new one improved it a lot, such as when you first click on "agree" , it now auto prompts for a destination..... and it now has the ability to "cancel guidance" on the first menu without having to go through loads to find it. there are other bits and pieces, and appears faster. Also obviously the new updated maps.

2. I "PM"-ed you last night.......

Enjoy.

Is there anyone left who hasn't done this upgrade!?

The Speed camera warnings are great as are the LPG POI, my previous version had that too.

I'm going to do the S/W upgrade this weekend, and will report back.

Daveo,

How do you change the Splash Screens? Is it just a case of re-burning the DVD and replacing one of the files in the directories? I like those ones of yours, the black background makes them look very smart.

An all black screen with silver RANGE ROVER in the centre in the right font would look nice.

Did you create them yourself in a paint programme. Please let me know what the pixel dimensions etc are, would love to do this myself. Thumbs Up Bow down Discovery 4 HSE

NavTweak and NavSpeak it's a programs intended to change various things in 'navboot' and sound files.
you must have a current copy of the latest version v3.2 software
you will need the following programs

NavTweak 2.6 (49 KB):
http://rapidshare.com/files/8925524/navtweak.zip.html

NavSpeak 1.0 (23 KB):
http://rapidshare.com/files/8925664/navspeak.zip.html

Both programs requires the GTK+/Win32 Runtime Environment (5.2 MB):
http://gladewin32.sourceforge.net

Make sure it follows these guidelines:
Width: 400
Height: 234
Bit Depth: 8
Resolution: 96 x 96
Frames: 1

YOUR SPLASH SCREEN WILL BE LOCATED HERE.........
It should be located at the following path:
V_2 > RR > 0101 > BMWC01S > app_sw > navboot
select the navboot file and drag it to your desktop
The program will extract it and make a copy on your desktop

Open up navtwweak, clic on file go to V_2 > RR > 0101 > BMWC01S > app_sw > navboot..rombitmaps
you will see your splash screen there, click on it and right click, replace

after you have replaced the ,copy it back to your navboot,
then you have to right it to disc,
this is where i have failed a few times and i ave put it down to speed, use as slow as possible to wright the disc

I use Photoshop CS3 but you can use any image editor that allows you to create an image with the following parameters:
Image size
Image resolution
GIF image export
Bit Depth

Install UltraISO , most people use this to right the disc V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

hi dan, still messing around with the map disc, do you have both cameras and lpg stations on the same disc, and in the nav menu if your running v3.2 should give you the option to turn on/off the cameras, does it give you the option on the lpg stations .

Is it also possible to buy the DVD? I've never seen Speed Camera POI in the normal Navigation Disc.

Does this also give perspective view? Loved that on the M6 and would love to upgrade the 2007 version I have on the SC to 2009

Would someone be kind enough to PM me; I've got a MAC so would be great to find one already done so I just need to pop it in - Beer tokens would be plentiful Wink
