The second item from my second link I found priced at @ $1200 !!!

Also seems we are getting into "spy" territory.

Not much about in the UK due to the legalities of transmitting over UHF .

Thats the most system stan which as you point out correctly we cant touch.
I was going to send you the TV page from Rave but have just found out my new PC with windows 7 dont like it Big Cry
If I am misunderstanding your replys please forgive me but all I want to do is connect a small free view box between the cars aerials and the receiver just like you would at home but I am defeated by there being two aerials with two inputs to the receiver. so simple but so awkward to do with not knowing enough about the TV. I thought about if there was an av in on the reciever but then you get the sound problem like has already been mentioned.
And I dont know if the aerials will work without being powered up???? Mine was a blue one! Smile

i can see they way you are thinking andy...a normal freeview box will pick up the digital signal , convert it to analogue and then push it out either via a modulated signal or a scart signal to the tv...

as i see it the stumbling block with the fullfat is where the analogue or hybrid tuner is, both input and output to those bits of hardwhere is MOST...[i think] ... - .- -.

That would stay the same.
You would just connect the Freeview box and let the car tuner tune to it ( I think its usually channel 38 ish) so the car would have One channel.
You would then change channel etc with the freeview box's remote not ideal but would work. Its just connecting the aerials thats my issue I would do it but I dont know enough about them. If yo go to the aerial connection on the car receiver and unplug the aerials you can read a voltage ( not sure what it was as did it last year ) This I think powers the amplifiers on the aerials. Mine was a blue one! I also found a dvb modulator that converts AV output to RF input, so it is just the piping of the RF signal into the TV that seems to be the issue. .

the rf signal is the problem as there isnt a way of introducing it into the system..a rgb signal straight to the monitor would work but again no sound..

andy, i can see that a voltage from the aerial amps isnt gonna go down well in the freeview box.. ... - .- -.

excuse me to bring up this old topic but i got news on that stuff Very Happy

proud owner since august i was wondering if i can get any video into the system
without spending hundreds of pounds. as the topic starter said "for that i can get a 40" for the toilet" Very Happy

i found a relative cheap way to bring an rf signal onto our analogue tuners and ordered it
yesterday in japan, should be here by the end of the week. if it works, i post pictures Cool

that is this lovely device which brings analog ntsc video to our FFRR (only mono, for me its ok)

price is around 8000yen with shipping and they are very helpful. had problems to order on their japanese site and
they send me an pdf where to enter what to order, that is customer care Thumbs Up

http://eleshop.jp/shop/g/g402107/ (i used chrome auto translation for that)

the plan is to hook up a dvb-t2 freeview box on that device in the trunk!

I have a gvif interface which i bought to fit a reverse camera to and on the interface it allows me to connect 3 A/V devices. I bought a cheap DVB-T from the bay and fitted this to it. I did have to buy two window aerials for the DVB-T one on each side of the rear screen to get good signal (which i do) and works perfect.

As mine is a MOST system i also had difficulties with the audio, unless you have RSE with a AUX input to connect the DVB-T audio to like me you may have to use a FM transmitter and have the audio played through your radio.
which does the job.

I know you guys were looking for a cheap option and ideally to use the analogue tuner already fitted but i thought i would just detail what i have used.

it would be interesting if someone can get the analogue system incorporated with a digital freeview. Range rover td6 54 reg touch screen

thanks for your information. why i ordered this transmitter is that i wanted nothing added to the existing system. the signal should be from "outside" the system. nothing was in my mail on friday so i am hoping to get the transmitter by monday... i will post pictures etc. if it works Thumbs Up

Hi all
Am I missing something here, mine and my brothers 07 cars TV's work, with a reasonable chanel choice, does this mean someone has updated the TV receivers in the cars already? I thought all 07 cars, or newer one's that the TV's would work. Something to watch out for if this isn't the case, if I buy a newer one. SC 4.2, 2012 face lifted, 25K miles, 1 previous owner

the info i have is that:
If you have the Terrain Response/updated interior the car should have Hybrid Tuner. Till MY06 with facelift the old one was fitted.

Device arrived today, had a quick hookup and tried it. picture is ok, sound a bit noise und not as loud as radio.
after some time my tuner made some weird things:
black bands on top of picture even when there was no signal. was not able to get a picture.
next try, sound was there, tuner had no picture but when i switch between radio and tv i get picture for a sec, than its black.
looks like there is something wrong with my tuner?

have to try it next week with my fathers one...
