you might be thinking of the servotronic valve which regulates the pressure of the steering fluid..the most common sympton of this valves failure is heavy steering when de-accelarating because the faulty valve can't keep up with change in speed..it might be your problem and is very easy to change...do a search for more info.. ... - .- -.

the best way I have found is to encompass the word/sentance with double quotation marks, ie "steering" ..this fococuses the search.. ... - .- -.

pedro, try revving the engine [out of gear] before you manoeuvre to get the steering fluid circulating properly, then try reversing/turning..if at this point you dont get the judder then its the servotronic valve, if indeed you do still get the judder then its something else.. ... - .- -.

Stratstones quoted me £1800 for a new steering rack ! Turned out the fault had nothing to do with the rack, just a bolt that could have been tighter on a suspension arm. Previously..
