Does this http://www.evo.co.uk/news/evonews/286558/n..._ever.html make the new RR look expensive? Current MY2020

Actually no. I've had a Cayenne and for the announced price you get a basic model, try to go through the options list to spec one decently and you'll be paying about the same money as a Range Rover which has more standard features.
Then it is a question of taste, I leave this up to you, I know the one which I would choose.

I wonder they haven't upped the torque in the TDV8? This Cayenne has 110 lb/ft more.

We recently tried speccing up a Cayenne at home whilst waiting for test drive. Sufice to say once the extras went into the "teeth sucking" stage we cancelled the test drive.

Must say that whilst i do like the interior of the new FF, I am disliking the front end more and more. It just seems a bit washed out, and no longer looks butch. *Gone* Discovery3 HSE

Every Porka i have owned has ended up with at 15K extra's bill

1/ half the stuff should be standard

2/ dealers tell you if you do not have certain things resale will be an issue

3/ You never get the extra's money back bar 5-10 % ( same with most cars )

4/ Porsche are notorious for the way they structure there cars in pricing brackets that people will always spend far more on that car to get a decent spec.

As for reliability of Porsche , last 2 cars i have had both hi end models have been a mare on problems and crap customer care. Sad Far to many gone...

Buid configurator is now on UK site..I've only just noticed...

Anyway....the, lets call in the 'side detailing'....there doesn't seem to be an option to make it the same as the chosen body colour?

Exactly the issue.
I like the look of the Cayenne V8 deisel, but to get a reasonable spec will cost me over £72k, not the £58k they start from.
If you are going to flush that kind of money down the toilet you might as well be driving the better car, the FFRR.

Sounds like preaching to the converted if you ask me Wink

I totally agree, not that Porkas are bad cars, they are for sure not the best looking cars in the world, contrary to FFRRs and they aren't as good as their reputation is technically either. Same goes for Landcruisers by the way, although they are not so much ugly as more bland looking cars.

I just hope that JLR has not only designed a very good looking FFRR 4th generation, technically it sounds like they really went all out to deliver the best they can but that reliability wise they can finally start going up in the ranks.

Other brands have done it (including Jaguar, I remember them starting to malfunction as soon as the weather forecast said small chance of rain !!!) so lets hope JLR has also done that for the L405. I sincerely hope so for our "brothers" here that are brave (or smart) enough to get the very first ones of the factory floor and also for poor Censored like me who have to wait a few years before we can afford the second hand ones Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

The bit along the bottom of the doors and under the rear lights (gypsy stripe?) isn't available in body colour.

I love 'gypsy stripe', it shall be forever know as this. Smile

I still regret getting the 'noble' thingy whatsit pack on my MY11 tdv8...so it has the shiny bar under the front numberplate...always hated it.

I see there is an option for a slightly darker 'gypsy stripe'. I'd have to go for that - were I ordering a new one neaxt year which seems unlikely tbh - but always fun to browse the configurator.

Here's hoping it is a plastic strip that is easily removable and can be colour coded by your local body shop. Otherwise I think silver is rapidly going to become the most popular body colour to order a new one in.
