Current TDV8 is a great engine, I suspect its strengths versus the TDV6 aren't fully illustrated by the 0-60 time.

Sorry gents, I just saw the video I love it. I just hope I will still get and HDC inactive each time I start the engine, gives soul to the car.

Uh oh. And here I thought they couldn't come up with something more annoying than the detachable one on the RRS and Disco/LR4. They have!

If something that limited in utility (just a ball and no receiver??) is what they end up with in the US I'm afraid that's a deal breaker for me. Sad

( I initially read that as deplorable towbar. Wink )

If you look at the price list, at least the uk one on page 51 you will find that an armature type towball is available as well.

Ah, yes, the Multi-Height Tow Bar. Cool. Thanks for that. I can now breath a sigh of relief.

They are starting to put up the US info. It's still rather patchy. We certainly don't get all the nifty options the UK does. Smile

It's great on paper. But just because I'm allowed to spend that much, sadly, doesn't mean I can afford to.

It's not a freebie, I have to pay for it. It's just that the upper limit is £80k OTR. I'd get absolutely HAMMERED on a car that expensive - pretty sure the monthly cost would be too rich for me.

That's not to say I won't run the numbers of course! Whistle

And anyway, I've always found paying one's bills and eating highly overrated...perhaps I can convince SWMBO that a shiny new RR with a caravan towed behind it is the way forwards...

Sell the house and live in the caravan, saves a lot of cost so you can afford the L405 Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

In my opinion no, I'd probably go for the TDV6.
The TDV8 does have great punch, producing 700nm of torque where the TDV6 is "only" 600nm.

But the fact the TDV6 is 200kg lighter, noticably more economical and cheaper to tax make it look like a straight forward alternative choice to me, not a £7k cheaper option when the rest of the spec is the same.

So I'd have the smaller engine if paying with my money. Smile
It's still quicker than the current 2012 TDV8 because that is so much heavier! Thumbs Up

England 2014 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Fuji White

i have an SDv6 2012 MY Disco and my 11.5 4.4TDV8 like chalk & cheese in the real world esp once you are up and running the 4.4 just slams you in the seat and sails along, the SDV6 smooth but far slower, Fuel SDV6 real world gives 28MPG, 4.4 gives me 26 in the Range Rover that is 400 kilo's heavier, motorway 4.4 is better on fuel. Far to many gone...
