Sat nav issue

Sorry if this has been posted before but I think this is a strange one!!!!!!! Been using the nave since I bought the car in jan (2005) vogue. Now when I use the nav it seems to be running slow and becomes very blocky in its movement, seems to run behind where I am on the road and never catches up.

Please help

Russ If i could would you!!!!

You're TD6 is way too fast for the sat-nav to keep up, either lift your foot off the accelerator or stop at the side of the road every few miles to allow it to catch up. Whistle

A dirty or scratched navigation disk may be the cause.

i'd check for water ingress in the rear near side compartment or possibly the laser is faulty and not reading the disc quick enough.. ... - .- -.

Try another disk (is it a mk3 or mk4?).

2005 - that'll be neither a MKII or IV but a touch screen.

If the disc doesn't fix it check all connectors and the unit itself for humidity (as Stan already posted).

I had similar with a non land rover sat nav and it turned out to be laser reader in the unit.

Car is now in Bradford having to gearbox looked at again! (another ongoing problem) he called me to say that when he had plugged his reader on the car it was throwing up faults everywhere, trans, susp, stealing, and on and on...... Now I have just remembered that he had had the car the week before I found this issue ( had the battery off) just wondering, he is replacing the battery for me and using the car for a couple of days will the nav needs resetting or anything as to stop this fault happening again.. If i could would you!!!!

definitely tell him to reset the steering parameters after fitting the battery....with engine on, turn the steering wheel fully left and then fully right....if you dont do this you will have problems.. ... - .- -.
