Fuel Con

I have a TD6 and the fuel consumtion was allways around 26 28 on motorway drives and 22 23 around town but over the last month or so its droped to 19 20 where ever i drive the car was serviced recently but no change does anyone have more info or similar issues

Full service first - genuine parts from Dan@Duckworth on here:

Oil
Oil filter
Air filter
Fuel filter
Pollen filter (not related to fuel consumption I know!)
Crankcase breather

Good quality oil.

The TD6 should be returning a higher MPG in this warm weather, colder weather uses more fuel

your service might have done a proper reset on the fuel consumption computer so the best way to find a 'real' average mpg is to do a tank to tank fill... ... - .- -.

I'm not sure Stan, i haven't used it this week when its been pastie boy hot. Been on the ped. Just generally the mpg has dropped recently Crying or Very sad

dont engines run better with cool air for combustion rather than hot...could be the reason maybe ian.. ... - .- -.

stan... does the cold dense air not just give better combustion and a bit more power due to a better burn? hence the reason that jap car tuners fit large front mounted intercoolers to ram as much cold air into the system as possible.

i don't think it has much effect on MPG???

you could be correct stu, but if the combustion is more efficient then you need less fuel to get to required speed.. ... - .- -.
