your service might have done a proper reset on the fuel consumption computer so the best way to find a 'real' average mpg is to do a tank to tank fill... ... - .- -.

dont engines run better with cool air for combustion rather than hot...could be the reason maybe ian.. ... - .- -.

My consumption dropped a few months ago. Problem was a seized brake calliper. No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE

stan... does the cold dense air not just give better combustion and a bit more power due to a better burn? hence the reason that jap car tuners fit large front mounted intercoolers to ram as much cold air into the system as possible.

you could be correct stu, but if the combustion is more efficient then you need less fuel to get to required speed.. ... - .- -.
