The steering fluid appears to be a shade of yellow. I am wondering if it could be the gearbox oil, so might check that tommorrow to see if the level is down MY2010 TDV8 Vogue Ipanema Sand

Gearbox oil is a honey colour when new then black with age. Could be coolant as its that far back. Take your cap of the reservoir with the engine running (not hot) and look at the telltail jet. Should be either green/blue or red/orange. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

red could be transmission fluid try running the car whilst in park and check cooler lines running from the passenger side of the gearbox running up to the side of the engine if it is the cooler pipes they maybe only leaking under pressure, but if it tastes sweet it could be antifreeze |

just checked the coolant and it is red, but it seems too thin to be the be the oily red substance collecting on the afore mentioned subframe under the joing between gearbox and engine MY2010 TDV8 Vogue Ipanema Sand

the front diff appears to be ok... no sign of leaks. Ill get under it again tommorrow for a good look. i looked at the power steering fuid under the bonnet and it looks more like green that red, so i do not think that it is the cause of the leak.

When your under there take your camera as well. I had a coolant leak from the top of the engine at the back and it was running down round the bell housing looking like something from the gearbox. As the coolant was hot it had become quite sticky as the residue lost the fluid that makes it up and was more concentrated. Have you felt what the fluid/oil is like to the touch? Does it leave a stain on your drive etc? [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

torque converter seal ?? you should be able to check this by looking inside the bell housing via the rubber cap in the bell housing |

If you have red fluid coming out of a 5HP24 then someone's put Dexron in it, which means you've got much bigger problems than just a leak.....
