Constant high pitched whine from offside boot

Hello all, I have a strange constant whine coming from the offside boot area by the fuse panel... It makes no difference whether the car is on or off, an it is an electrical sound...

It is audible from outside the car, and very clear when you put your head in the boot...

Any ideas before I start pulling relay at random?!

might be worth tapping the relays with a screwdriver or similar to see if anything is stuck....try and localise the whine... ... - .- -.

Decided to have a mess around today.... I pulled the battery terminals for 30 mins, and no more whine... With two small children, getting into the panel requires unloading of vast quantities of buggies, balls, scooters, coats, boots etc etc, so frankly pulling the battery terminals was an easier starting point!

Always have to when you do a "hard re-boot" don't you?
