United States 2005 Range Rover HSE 4.4 V8 Chawton White

Hi.
I'm Jim.
I live in Genesee, Colorado, USA.
We have 2 Rangies; a 2000 & a 2005, both are the NAS-spec HSE models.
I found this site a couple days ago; I had been an active member on RangeRovers.net until very recently when, IMHO, RR.net went to Helena Handbasket.

Anyways, the 2000 RR gets to see some mountain off-roading when we go camping.
The '05 RR isn't going off-road any time soon. Unless the zombie apocalypse happens, it which case both the Rangies and the jeep are ALL heading to the woods!

I live in what we call the "foothills" of the Rocky Mountains. My house is at 7500 feet above sea level, so winters here are somewhat more snowy than other places.
From home, it's less than a 30-minute drive to 1 of the National Forests, where we go camping. Once at the Forest boundary, another 30 minutes in low range gets us to some really nice, high-elevation areas.

The "Sleeper house" is my neighbor, about 1/2 mile away as the crow flies.
Google "sleeper house" for pix.
Woody Allen's film "Sleeper" was shot there.
I call it George Jetson's house, primarily because I don't care much for Woody Allen.

Looking forward to being able to contribute to your forum! Jim

United Kingdom 2015 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black

Long time lurker here. Have been thinking about buying a ffrr for some years now but for one reason or another have not. Had an e46 M3 for nearly 5 years which i got out of November last year and rather than be patient i went nuts and bought an M5 (e60). Its a really lovely car but the minute i bought it i knew i should have just waited and bought the range rover. Insanely fast but i just cant use it like it should be used so back to the drawing board and hope i dont lose too much on the M5.

I was originally looking at a 4.2 supercharged however after returning 12mpg in my 5ltr M5 think i will now plumb for the TDV8. For the driving i now do i think this makes more sense to me.

Really want Stornaway with Parchment if i can low miles 07/08

Anyway just saying hi

cheers

Marc

Hi Mark, Welcome along. I had that achingly difficult decision - E60 M5 or S/C. Guess which one I chose? Thumbs Up
I also had a couple of E46 M3's in my time, but nothing comes close!

The more I drive it, the more I don't regret my decision! Bow down

I also think you'll get more that 12mpg in an SC! Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
Had- 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE in Java black
Had - 2007 S/C in Stornoway Grey

Cheers Alan. The M5 is a fantastic piece of kit but I do a lot of around town driving hence 12 mpg so I don't think the s/c would be much better. I bought it knowing consumption would be bad so that not really the issue it's just to enjoy it the engine has to be screaming by which point the speed limit has long gone so not as fun as the m3 if that makes sense as power not as useable. Think I am getting old:)

Hello!

I had a discovery II TD5 XS for 7 years that I mistakenly sold last year! doh!

I've owned a 3.9V8 RR Classic Vogue for the passed 12 months and I'm thinking about getting something a bit newer with a few more toys!

So I'm in here to do some research. Site was recommended to me by one of your exisiting members and fellow member of a Lotus forum. (I have an Elise also).

cheers,
N

Hello all,

I just signed up to this forum and Disco3 as, being a disgruntled Toerag owner, I've seen the light and am looking to change to either a Discovery or a Range Rover. Undecided as to which though, so hopefully trawling these forums (Fora?) wll help!

Hi all, new to this forum, in fact any forum. V shy Wink . Got my RR vogue last year after my dad got one and I was v jealous..! Total convert, will never drive anything else again. Have done a few little mods/upgrades to it, rear seat entertainment (sliced open several fingers in the process), remap, interior upgrades such as steering wheel, handbrake etc , grille upgrades, rear lights, interior LEDs and few other things. Thought I'd finally join after my many mnths of browsing.[/url]
