United Kingdom 2019 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black

Observe:

Below is the fuel filler neck on my Defender: A big bore open pipe where fuel can gush in at any speed. Lovely.

Below is the TDV8 filler neck. Note the small bore of the pipe but also, the misfuel device is NOT triggered, but further impedes the nozzle. When I fill up, the nozzle is half way out of the neck - why design this SO badly?

Note also that despite the filler neck all having been replaced a year ago, the rubber has perished thanks to dripping diesel - which is because its such a crap fit and always splashes back out when full, because the nozzle won't go all the way in! Censored Censored Censored Censored

I bet some of you think the misfuel guard has been triggered but I just checked it with the yellow plastic reset tool and its down as far as it will go. (Unless mine is just bolloxd)

I think there may be an issue with your misfuel guard as I cant see mine when it is reset, your looks partially triggered to me Confused 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

Also, if you open up the picture of mine full size and zoom into the spout, there are 2 pegs on either side of the filler neck, and these are what prevents the fuel nozzle going further in. Is everyone's like this?

I bet if I tried putting an unleaded spout down there it would bl00dy fit! Discovery 4 HSE

I've just zoomed in and its certainly in the UP or partial up as its displaying the handbook 'I' which shouldn't be seen.

When you put the tool in does it click at all as IIRC you put it in and pull it back a little and it flaps down i think... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I had a similar problem with my TDV8 when i got it a couple of month ago, I found the reset tool got the misfuel device to the point you have there. I found I had to put something down (3ft socket extension bar is what I used) the fuel filler to give the yellow bit a light shove and it down clicked out of sight 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

The heater's on in the garage today, toasty at about 15°C at the moment. Yesterday was spent working on the Viano changing a broken spring caused by a fookin pothole. I changed both springs both drop links and ARB bushes.
