I have had 2 flat batterys since friday, i have had a new battery and alternator fitted 4 months ago, any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated  Range Rover SDV8

was the correct type of battery fitted, it should have been a 110amphr 920 cca type.. ... - .- -.

Yes the correct battery was fitted,

I had the 2010 rear lights fitted on thursday and friday morning there was just enough battery to start the car, (i dont know if this is just a coincidence as surely after the ignition is switched off there is no power at the lights for the electronics to drain the bat) i drove the car around all day fine and sat morning it started fine. Then i drove to wales in my van and came back yesterday afternoon and tried to start the range and there wasnt enough power to turn the engine over, i drove around yesterday to charge the battery and the car started fine first thing this morning. Range Rover SDV8

check the charging system , this should read 14.5 'ish on idle if not then the alternator might be the problem.....
you could also check the battery voltage with a multimeter than check again a few hours later and if there's a decrease then this could be a drain somewhere .. ... - .- -.

Yes it is reading 14.5 on idle i will check the bat in a few hours to see if the voltage has dropped Range Rover SDV8

I was thinking maybe it is the heater blower resister, how would i check to see if it is this Range Rover SDV8

My car didn't start this morning either - doh!

I have previously have had no problems but I did have the FBH on for longer than normal this morning. Having read good reviews on here I ordered a C-tek MXS5 from Amazon and will leave the car where it is until it arrives. There is a silver lining however, it's my birthday today, I should think drinks are now a possibility at lunchtime as SWMBO will be driving her car. As a gesture I might drive there she can drive back

I would just have gone for a new battery but having checked with LR the one in it was only replaced a year ago and as I said I have had no trouble until this morning but I reckon last night was the coldest night since I bought the car last March.

If that's ok I'd stick a charger on it over night,

As who ever Fitted your lights probably had the doors open all day

And driving your car to charge battery doesn't

Okay if not I will try that, but I jet ski and I do it out of the back of the range and I always leave the back open all-day as I. have changed every light in the car to led and never had a problem before. but will give it ago Range Rover SDV8

interesting comment that driving alone doesn't put enough charge back into a FFRR. would you care to clarify / expand?

Takes around 30 minutes driving to fully charge a battery after starting the engine

Hi guys
Yes you're right with most cars, but from my experience
Rangies use a lot of power when running normaly
So when trying to charge a flat battery and power all the rangies
ECU'S, ice, air compressor etc

So I always find an over night charge with a good battery
Charger does it best,
