Quick question about diagnostic tools and service reset

Am I right in thinking of all the commonly available OBDII diagnostic tools only the more expensive faultmate (msv-2) can reset the service indicator on an L322?
Unfortunately the manual reset via the left reset button on the dash doesnt work on my touchscreen 2005TD6.
Cheers

Yes tried as many methods as I can find, door open, door closed, screen on home screen, screen on other screen, even tried right hand reset button in all combinations as well with no joy sadly as car is now freshly serviced by my own fair hand.
Cheers

Anyone know about service reset tools for touchscreen model?

What about Faultmate FCR or Hawkeye?

Or has anyone used an All comms on a touch screen model?

Mm well I have done my own research on Hawkeye as I dont fancy the Allcomms as it wont do Td6 engine yet and may have problems with an 06 VIN, equally the Faultmate FCR doesnt have a service rset function as far as I am aware.
So, question is has anyone got an IIDtool and if so does this allow reset service?
If it does then this seems better than the Hawkeye.
Finally though can either be used on both an L322 Td6 and a Disco Td5???? Or is the hardware totally different?
Cheers

I wouldn’t get too excited about the Faultmate MSV-2’s capabilities with regard to resetting the service indicator (at least on ‘02-‘05 models) or you’ll be very disappointed. You work through the menus as usual to get to the Instrumentation Pack settings and then, encouragingly, a button appears to reset the indicator :

Click on the button and, guess what, it simply puts up a page showing the usual manual instructions Crying or Very sad :

Maybe not what you might expect for £1000? I don’t know what the system is with ’06-onward vehicles.

OK another one bites the dust it seems!
Hawkeye looking more likely unless the IIdtool is worth the extra???

Ah a Hawkeye user!
So is it a good buy? It presumably has the service reset? And can you answer whether the same device can be used on a TD5 with a license purchase or something?

Yes the Hawkeye can be used for service reset!

As to multi vehicles, the good thing about the Hawkeye vs let's say a Faultmate is that it can be used for any vehicle type (e.g. L322) and is NOT locked to a particular chassis number.

Personally, I have the ability to diagnose both L322 & also Disco 3 vehicles.

If you wanted for example to have access to both FFRR & a Disco Td5 then you would need to purchase an additional unlock code (approx £170)

Here's the brochure:

http://www.bearmach.com/downloads/Diagnost...ages_d.pdf

And the user manual:

Example pricing is here but do a Google search as many people supply them, not just Bearmach!

One thing that a Hawkeye can't do however is program the vehicle CCF file so you are not able to "personalise" it or add new keys for example. For that you would need a Faultmate. It does diagnose & reset both the FBH & EPB mind!

If you want to know more, then just give me a PM Thumbs Up Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
