Westfalia 13 Pin Electrics - Question about Socket

I have just received my Westfalia 13 pin towbar electrics. Upon looking at it, when the 13 pin socket is fitted onto the armature bracket, the socket cover will open to the left as opposed to what you'd normally expect of up and down (if that makes sense !)

In other words, when plugging the electrics in, you need to open the socket cover and instead of it opening upwards, it will open to the left. Seems the socket is fitted 90 degrees from what i'd expect but the orientation of the three holes doesn't allow it to fit how I'd imagine

Perhaps the mounting plate on my armature is wrong ? Can anyone else confirm how theirs is fitted please ?? Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....

Hi Colin, I've got the dual 7 pin sockets, and both open to the side.

Thanks Justin, that's confirmed it.

Will fit the electrics at the weekend - looks easy enough, instructions say to fix the tow ecu on with velcro but there are mounting holes on it - not had the rear panels off yet - how did you fix yours ? Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....

I fitted using two of the black plastic nuts that the plastic boot floor side panels are fitted with.

I got Westfalia, mine would only fit sideways .... and I also used a couple of the plastic nuts that were holding the boot floor trim down Thumbs Up It will all become clear when you get into it Wink

The 13 pin socket on my Westfalia opens vertically.

My LR sockets allowed plenty of flexibility, though i fitted mine to open left and right diagonally (12s/n sockets) as if it opens straight up it fits right against the bumper so its a PITA to get the sockets out when unhitching Smile
