Your leak sounds so like mine that I'd bet 100% that its the bumper / armature brackets.

Boz, my RR has been static in pouring rain for the last 4 weeks and I have found lots of water getting in (see previous posts). therefore it must be a drain hole (sunroof or other?) not venting into the open and causing the water to back up and then fill up the rear, in front of the rear bumper. I suspect either the lower hinges or a rubber grommet or where the wires for a tow bar go. It comes in behind the rear metal wall of the boot - I have found water lying there but unable to get a towel or such into the area to blots up.

Justin, what i found was that water was getting into the rear lhs chassis rail when the car was parked but only when it was driven would is slosh around and come into the boot - hence the reason it took so long to actually find where it was coming in from. My drive is on a slight incline so the car could sit in the pouring rain and there were no signs of water ingress, however, when I drove it, water would then get into the spare wheel section from the chassis box section area around the armature brackets. When I removed the rear bumper, I could clearly see how this can happen. Like you, I tried to locate the gaskets but couldn't so I bought an armature from PF Jones that came with the gaskets (I was going to be fitting a towbar in any case) I also used a fair amount of sealant around the gaskets and so far so good, my boot is bone dry..... Like a number of people above my car has suffered rain water ingress in the rear corner. Unfortunately this has resulted in possible water damage to one or more audio units resulting in at present no sound form the audio systems.

Justin, contact Westafalia direct (or go through PF Jones) and they will supply you with new gaskets, also, make sure you use some additional sealant and I reckon that will do the job

I've removed the bumper and tow bar aperture and there's no sign or any water staining around the gaskets or in the sleeved holes

Was your boot seal obviously worn on the outside rubber edge, or did you need to remove it to spot the fault?

No way at all. When I first started this issue someone suggesting looking at the seal, I looked at it checking the rubber right the way round that is visible from head on view, looked perfect to me, i even pressed it right the way round to see if it was hard and brittle and it was perfect. I ruled this out without a second thought as it looked fine.
