Checked battery which was low so put my MXS10 on overnight, battery is fine now but has not made any difference to the tocuhscreen menu, on timed fans come on no fbh, press the manual soft key no fans or fbh.

I think i would have rather not seen it in the first place but as it is there!! LR are just so frustrating at times!!!!

Just to compare is there any one else with the same spec car
With fbh and touchscreen and compare there's to see what they get.

Not 100% on this but I think the fbh gets two signals one from the car as can-bus
When using timed and screen controls and the other is.
When the fbh it's self is below 5c and gets voltage from the car when you start it,
This then fires the fbh as yours does.

So it could be the can-bus in the fbh ecu,

I'm not 100% but may be worth a little look in my rave.
Do you have one for your car as I've got the non touchscreen RANGE ROVER 04 TD6

Just looked at my copy of rave,

Does any one have a copy for an 04 td6?

There are two controls going to the FBH on my car anyway

First is from the remote receiver this is a stand alone 12v signal to start the FBH,
once started the FBH then sends a can-bus signal to the HEVAC asking it to start fans etc.

Second connection is the can-bus (same as above) which receives the signal to start the FBH
from the Instrument Pack (touchscreen) etc and this is linked in with the HEVAC,

Ive just had a read of an older post with regards to non working aux FBH
does yours say AUX HEATING on the screen RANGE ROVER 04 TD6

Hi JR

On the menu you select Timed Climate and that takes you to another screen where it says :

TIMED CLIMATE

30MINUTES OF HEAT OR VENT (no mention of Aux heating)

There are two timer settings and underneath a manual button, the handbook says that it works on a ambient temp of 16c above that it vents and below it is supposed to heat!! Manual softket i get nothing, timer setting i get fans but no heat and no FBH even trying to start. FBH works fine for the engine when it gets down to about 7c

I bet that new smaller remote feels better in your pocket

I just read tis on another thread which i wonder if this is the reason that mine and Paulb fbh does not switch on from the touchscreen

"I had an indie to activate parking heating option with T4 - 5 min job and remote works. Park heater activation also enabled two timer settings and manual "heat on" function from MID (I don't have NAV)."?

Any one have access to T4?

I've noticed too since the cold weather set in!!!
Exactly the same is happening with my TD6 Vogue 2005 touch screen job. I set the timer for the morning to start at 05:00
get to the car hearing some noises open it but inside is cold no heating just blowing cold air around.
Touching the manual option nothing happens!! but after a short drive to work get out of the car and can smell it. (smells like Kings Cross railway station on a busy day) in the day sometimes there's a little puff of smoke from under the car so I'm puzzled as to what it could be? any info would be appreciated.

Hi

Right aux heating is what is displayed on my TD6 non touch screen,

this gives you the same two timers and the aux heating or venting

yes if the temperature is below 16.c you get heat above this the car vents

if the out side temp is 7c or below the fbh will start-up with the engine

Do you have a remote?

if yes do you set your temp in the car to about 20c and have it in auto before turning the car off
and center vent turned to red?

if yes to all of these it may be worth a trip to the stealer to ask the question.

also does your remote flash if you have one after turning it on? RANGE ROVER 04 TD6

FBH

Just been outside to try this manuel system on the timed climate control and the same thing started happening just venting cold air.......then all of a sudden it worked for about 10 seconds then everything went off tried starting the car flat battery within 10-15 mins so leads me to think the battery has had ists day and from what I can gather through this site the FFRR seems to be very sensitive to battery faults time for a new one ........ but what is recomended theres a whole heap of batteries out there!! 12v but what amperage is recommended? I don't know what is on it at present that I can check in the Morning but maybe it is the wrong one for the job!!

any info appreciated

Hi JR

No remote control. but I noticed I had to set the temp setting knob to full (both sides 26 degress I think) and the auto button in the middle had to be active then it worked but very briefly the battery went dead. I think it's time for a new one!! on reflection I just remembered before this business with the FBH I was refitting something or other and within 15--20 mins the battery was flat, had to borrow my neighbours jumpleads i understand the FFRR is susceptible to battery errors call it what ya will

NEW BATTERY REQUIRED...................BUT HOW BIG 12v /100-120

any info welcome....... my landy man dealer/stealer is chuffed with me I'll tell ya!! Current stock:-
