Drakes,

The seats were indeed from Dan, I bought the OE switches off him too and will get some clever chap to wire them up neatly before the next winter.

Made some further improvements on the Defender.

Fitted RDX snow guard vents - prefer the sideways facing vents to the front ones.

Also fitted clear indicators all round and clear rear lights (Need some better bulbs that are more red than the cheap eBay ones I bought - ideas on a postcard please)

The La Salle headlining has now been fitted at last! What with being away on holiday or away for work my time has been somewhat limited, the Mrs Wife helped me hold it up while I drilled the holes and put in self tappers, then I wired up the speakers and mounted them, and then finally inserted the proper trim rivets in place of the self tappers one by one.

You might just be able to see the recently fitted MUD Curry Hooks on the rear panels too. Splendid.

Here's the pics of the finished article, I absolutely love the look now, it's looking SO smart.

Looks bloody great!

What do you think of the LaSalle headlining quality? I saw one up close a few years ago and wasn't impressed, but I do need a new one for my 110 and those speaker mounts are tempting. Si. <This is my name.

I think it's excellent personally, the material is very thick and therefore doesnt crack easily if you are ham fisted like I was!

The only thing I noticed of a negative sense with it was that in sunlight you could see where the sprayed paint finish was thinner, but once its in the car you don't get the sun shining through it anyway, so it's not a concern.

Considering the inevitable tolerances in dimensions of a Defender it fitted very well, only a bit of strong arm technique needed for the front corners.

It needs 2 people to do the final fit, I did all the prep work off the car like the speaker pods etc. They are a bit small I suppose, not sure you would be able to fit 6" speakers on them.

Now I need to find a way of mounting a Sub speaker under my seat to add some depth to the Alpine head unit and speakers! Discovery 4 HSE

Sub under the drivers seat eh?...

That'd work well in mine. Thumbs Up Si. <This is my name.

Not posted for a while due to work and a holiday:

Done a few more bits on the Defender. It hadn't moved for a month and fired up first turn of the key Very Happy

Finally replaced the duff single tone hone with a dual tone kit from eBay (£5). All works fine, absolute bargain. Much louder.

More importantly, fitted the Alpine powered Subwoofer and really pleased with the neatness of it all. Have fitted the unit behind the passenger seat so its out the way and still works perfectly. All the wiring I managed to route through existing holes and grommets to get into the battery box, under the matting, up into the fuse box on the bulkhead and then up inside the dash to the head unit. It's not visible anywhere.

I mounted the remote control on the cubby in such a way that I can adjust it while driving without lifting it off the velcro.

Once fitted and tested it has made a phenomenal difference, with the 4 x Alpine 4" speakers in the headlining providing all the crisp treble, its now a great little setup. I also love the fact that its all Alpine kit Cool

The previous owner obviously wanted to go deep wading, so they repositioned the ECU and fuse box from under the driver's seat to on the bulkhead. At one point it was quite a common alteration. TBH it gets in the way but it would be way too much work to put it back, the loom is professionally done and fits well. Discovery 4 HSE

It's probably been mentioned before, but I like your 'farmers wing' dent. Laughing

My 110 has something very similar. Si. <This is my name.
