Further to my intention to give the RR an Oil change and filter service myself in the interim between proper services, the one thing I haven't yet found is which side the sump plug is on the TD6. Had a crawl underneath today and all I can see is plastic underbody panels, which I presume need removing first.

Having gone through the RAVE workshop manual there is no mention of these panels or the removal of them, or which side I will find the sump plug.

Also, is it absolutely necessary to lift the car on ramps in order to drain the oil? I used to do my old Land Rover on the driveway no problem, but it was on 750x16 tyres so there was a decent amount of ground clearance.

If I get some axle stands is this enough do you think?

A good source of information thanks Mick, sadly, can't find anything on the L322 there. The maintenance procedures seem to be aimed at Series and Defender types, which is dead simple, cos you can see all the components as soon as you lift the bonnet. Discovery 4 HSE
