2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - New Purchase

Hi guys

New to the forum and recently purchased a 2012 L322 4.4 TDV8 Westminster and loving it. Been reading the forum for ages so thought I might as well join.

The first thing I did was take it to a local specialist, Henshall Engineering in Cheshire, who carried out a full inspection/health check and then an overhaul comprising the following;

- Oil Cooler replaced
- Thermostat & Header Tank replaced
- New Brake Discs and Pads all round
- Brake Pipes replaced (Kuniffer)
- Rear Propshaft replaced
- Full Service (Oil & Filter, Air Filters, Pollen Filter, Fuel Filter).
- Obviously the Brake Fluid, Brake Hoses and Coolant were renewed with the above work as well.

Then had Bodsy come round and do a flush on the gearbox as well as change the Diff & Transfer Box oils.

Obviously quite an outlay straight away but wanted to get it fully up to scratch and then make sure it’s maintained well going forwards.

Only issue now is the iPod/USB socket doesn’t seem to work. I have one of those Invery Bluetooth adaptors. The screen only shows AUX as an option where the “Portable Audio” option usually is. So I need to figure that out…

Other than that been loving the Range Rover so far. I was originally looking to get an L405 but always loved the L322 and the issues with insurance etc on the 405 meant it made more sense for now at least.

If anyone has anything else they recommend doing just as good practice / preventive maintenance just to future proof it a bit let me know. Cheers Thumbs Up Current: 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8

Hi and welcome to the mad house...

The newer 322's suffer from being made from cheap recycled steel from JLR's owners Tata..

If it were me I'd flood every box section I could find after removing the sill protectors, also the tailgate and inside the rear arches... drop all wheel well liners and put some protection there as well...

Hopefully make it last a while.... Thumbs Up Pete
I now have permission from the boss to use Y.O.L.O. Enjoy life

Yeah sounds like a good idea mate. Definitely on the list. I went out of my way to make sure I got one with no rust on the tailgate and rear arches. There’s no comments on previous MOTs about corrosion on the subframe or anything so it’s in good shape. I will probably treat it to a full detail clean and polish so that would be an ideal time to try and do as much rust proofing as possible Thumbs Up Current: 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8

Hi- I had a similar problem Invery Bluetooth- disconnect it with engine off and there is a switch on top of it- flick it towards the lights, plug it back in and it should work OK- cheers

Thanks for the tip Chris, I’ll give that a go and see if it works.

The only thing is on my screen it only says “AUX” where it’s supposed to say “Portable Audio”

Normally you have a portable audio option which then gives you choices between AUX and any other external device you may have plugged in. But on mine it just shows AUX which is strange Confused Current: 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8

Mine said exactly the same- the instructions tell you to flick that switch to where I think you have it when using an iPhone and I did the same- I just had aux on dashboard and scratched my head- the lights on the Invery weren’t on also- took it off switch it back reconnected and it’s all good. I bought mine this week- I was sceptical with them as I’ve tried to use on ML and S class Merc before but was rubbish- but on my L322 defo works well and no drop outs

Thank for this mate! I will give that a go this evening and report back. Hopefully it resolves the issue as I hate having the aux cable plugged into the back Laughing Current: 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8

I tried to fix it this weekend but still nothing. I’ve got a feeling there is some problem with the socket/wiring that goes under the centre console. The Invery comes on if I connect it to a USB charger but using the iPod socket in the car it doesn’t so it’s like there’s no power going to it. Current: 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8

When nothing is plugged into the USB, IPod socket- what comes up on the screen? 3 options? USB, iPod, Aux? If you still get the same then it’s probably as you say a connection or config problem Range Rover L322 Westminster 4.4TDV8 (current)

It only shows AUX as an option mate so yeah I think there must be some other issue with it. Strange one really! Current: 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8
