I'm assuming you mean the fuel pressure as you mention Low and High pressure pump.
From the WSM:

Quote:
The low pressure system pressure is approx. 1.5 bar to 5 bar and return end < 0.6 bar. The pressure in the high
pressure end is 200 bar to 1350 bar.

Hi, yes I mean the fuel pressure. the engine m57. I’m having this code p1180 credibility of the fuel pressure sensor, low pressure side (fuel filter) pre-fuel pressure below the pressure necessary to start. The car crank but star. When I open the switch the pressure next to de filter is 40 psi

There a 3 fuel pumps for a TD6 -

1 in the tank lifts fuel from the bottom of the right hand side of the 'saddle' tank and pushes it towards the second pump. BUT it also sends overflow down into the left hand side of the saddle to shoot out of a small nozzel across a gap to sweep sediment from the bottom and 'syphon up' fuel into a pipe that rises over the saddle to the right side where it sweeps up sediment there too.

2 is under the left rear passenger (external with a plastic cover). This sends fuel to the 3rd pump via the filter and low pressure sensor.

3 is mechanically driven by the engine to provide the high pressure for the injector rail. This is mounted to the front, left of the engine. Excess fuel gets returned to the tank after cooling.

Low pressure from pump 1 usually results in no syphoning over the saddle so the car runs out of fuel with 10L still in the tank. Failure of this pump results in no fuel to the engine.

Low pressure from pump 2 gives the P1180 symptoms you are describing. Rotate this pump ~60° in its rubber collar (to change the angle of contact between the motor's commutator and brushes), clear the code and test. If improved you need a new pump 2; if no change suspect the in-tank pump.

Note - the pumps are pierburg brand and there are genuine EQUIVALENTS available at much lower prices than the Land Rover part. Just match pressure & volume specs, pipe fittings and electrical plugs. Note that the plumbing for pump 2 is weird, the rear tank feeds from the front while the output goes towards the rear of the vehicle ! Oh, and the tube clips on the pumps are single use types, you'll need to add new ones.

bye. 2003 TD6, EGR delete, vortex crankcase breather update, performance chip, UHF 2 way, Android head unit, crash camera on dash, always-on rear view camera to mirror screen, LED DRL`s, Electric trailer brake controller. FSR replaced. Pulling 3T caravan all about Australia
