I'm guessing nobody has had to replace an injector on the 4.4 then |

I could be way off target here, but is this any use? - very little info on the web is seems, the only videos I found were not helpful at all.

Wayne is bang on the money, when I had some injector woes last year, we removed all 8 and sent them off to Colchester for inspection and cleaning

I've not done the job yet. Removing the covers over the injectors looks to be a horrendous job. There's 7 nuts on them and they look almost invisible from the top. 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

On the 3.6 which has issues getting 4&8 out, my indy said they use a ratchet strap and hoik the engine over to the side to give a few mm of wiggle room. Not sure what they attach it to though. |

I've done this once when removing a rocker cover for replacement. Constructed a simple slide hammer out of a piece of pipe welded onto a nut with the correct thread for the injector end. They came out pretty easily - way different to those in the supercharged V8 which don't appear to have a thread you can attach with a nut. Good luck. |

Kiwi RR, no force is needed to remove the TDV8 injectors, I have not heard of anyone having to use more than a firm twist by hand to get them loose. The issue is no physical room with the back injectors to clear the engine/rocker cover

They did come out easily - I think we went that way as it’s recommended in the FSM - either way it’s not too hard. Pulled the glow plugs the other day as well - was very pleased they came out without a hitch! |

I've just done the cam cover gasket on my 3.6 (LH side of engine viewed from drivers seat)

Getting the covers off the 3.6 is easy enough but the 4.4 ones look a dog to do as you can't get to the bolts.
