They stop any water on the tailgate running inside when you open the tailgate when it’s raining.

Thanks. Thought they would have some sort of purpose.

My car didn't have them on and I was fed up with water dripping on my parcel shelf when opening the tailgate. I put some on a few months back and I'm afraid water still drips in if you open the tailgate quickly!! |

Only had the car a week and have a little fund of money for immediate repairs (mostly of stuff that is annoying me). Think I will replace - just hope it’s not a total faff. |

My 2003 doesn't have them - at least I don't think so. I'll have a look tomorrow morning. When did they start being fitted? I'll have to look at a later model to see what they look like. Ron B. VK2OTC

Some closer pictures if useful as to what they are.

Does the glass need to be removed to fit them? |

I was wondering if there was ever a lower seal to this rear window when new? Looks like there’s a gap for another strip and a lot of dusty dirt is sitting in there. Needs a good clean.

No, as above, lower window trim never fitted to later cars, only the early ones, without the side trims. They were never fitted together.
