Yes, I do. Thanks autocorrect! It's a shame that the quality isn't great, the audio cuts and changes every 4-5s. I'm not sure if it's my phone or the unit. I'll test with another phone.

Front disks sorted today. After a quick test drive, the soft test grumbly feel has gone and the brakes now feel firmer and more confidence inspiring.

For reference it's Brembo disks from Euro Cap Parts and Febi pads from Autodoc. As an aside, Autodoc messed me around with disks and wear sensors so badly that I'm never using them again.

Jobs this weekend, rear arch liners and sill covers off then rust treatment and Lanoguard.

Good luck, hope it’s not too bad under the sill plastics. Bottom of the rear arches tends to be the nightmare bit, all repairable but a bit of a faff.

Mine ended up ok after a bit of light work;

So far so good, the worst bit by far has been the metal that holds on the lower panel under the front side vents

All sorted. I used Nutrarust to treat the rust then Lanoguard to seal everything from front to back from the coming winter. The rear arches weren't too bad but not good for a 12 year old car. More worrying was the mount as per my earlier post. Both were bad but now sorted. If you've not checked yours, pull of the trims and check them!

I also managed to sort out the random rattle above 50mph. I pulled the side vents off and used some padded double sided tape between the black plastic and the painted metal. Voila, no more rattle as the speed rises.

When fittind the old trim protector and the new ones (the Freelander part that is cut to size), I covered the arch area, inside and out, in the Lanoguard grease as well as packing some in the trim strip too. Similarly with the lower trim mount, it was covered in the Lanoguard grease on the inside before mounting and then the outside once it was on the car. Hopefully everything is now ready for the winter!

The car does smell slightly of sheep at the moment, hopefully that's something that will fade away over the coming days.

A few pictures from the weekend:

Left side rear arch. Looks bad but was all surface rust

Treatment underway, it all got sprayed with Lanoguard after this.

Finished mount back on, extra protection with the grease

One of the rear winds done. The other side was the same. The trim is black, the Lanoguard grease makes it look lighter.

Morning,

Have you removed this plastic trim yet?

If you haven't its worth doing just to check the condition of the area around the rear lift mounts etc.

Yes, that's the after pic. The sill covers came off, the foam insert out, arch liners off etc. Nutrarust on the rust, once dry then Lanoguard everywhere including in the sills

My inspiration was from Sam's Motors and Machines, much more effective use of sponsorship than me πŸ˜‚

I created a better mount for my Android screen. 1.5mm aluminium plate, bent into shape with a vice and a 3/8 extension bar to created the curve. The screen is mounted on using high strength velcro. Super simple and very effective.

Then a USB hub installed to power the screen for Android Auto and a cleaner run for the power to the wireless charging phone holder. Much better than trailing wires!

I also found the passenger sill cover was loose so clipped that in properly when clipping everything back together. Very happy with the result.

My phone isn't connecting to the Invery properly so I've got a super cheap USB Bluetooth to 3.5mm audio in the centre cubby with the aux cable routed out the back and down into the aux input, impossible to see from the front seats. Once I sort that out and it's working again, all the cables will be gone and it will almost look factory.

Fresh boots for the fattie today. Continental 3 Peak all seasons on each corner, 255/55/R20 so slightly up from the 255/50s. If the speedo is out I'll adjust it with the Gap tool.

The previous mix were Admirals on the front and then Rodains on the rear. Ride is immediately better and the car more planted, at least for a Range Rover. Happy days.
