My rear drivers door is locked shut and wont open from inside or out, I have removed the door card and internal trim to gain access to wiring etc, unplugged all connections one at a time to try to isolate issue to no avail, how do I remove latch/actuator with door shut?

so its not the child lock on as you cant open from the outside..

there has been an issue with soft close doors which an ecu update cures...some forum threads on this..

I had this with my discovery 3 last year, the door would sometimes work but then stopped fully. I decided to try and tackle it one evening but because mine was a commercial I couldn't actually get the door car off. So what I did was cycle the lock unlock on the remote while also pulling the handle and locking and unlocking it manually at the door, after about 3 minutes I got lucky and the door popped.

Everyone I saw with this issue replaced the lock mechanism but for me this was not faulty, all that happened was that the white grease that was put on nearly 20 years ago dried up and just made the mechanism sticky. After I completely took it apart, cleaned it and re greased it the door has been fine.

Not sure will this work on the RR as the door lock is not within the handle but its worth a shot for the sake of the few minutes.

Hang on! Long shot and I know this might be completely different, but on the front door of an L322 (late model, don't know if others are the same), you can insert a long handled screwdriver down between the door glass and the door after removing the trim, you can then smash a hole in the top of the plastic cover on the door lock mechanism and with a bit of fiddling the deadlock releases. Drives:

So the screws that hold the lock mechanism are by the lock which you cannot get too when it is deadlocked. Removed internal door card (not difficult even when door is shut), then you have limited access to the actual lock. Couple of cuts to internal door with reciprocating saw (not easy) then bend back internal metal and smash existing locking mechanism until door opens, no damage to external door and once all parts are back in place you would never know I had been in there, (hopefully), I just need to make sure I order the correct part now
