Hi All,

For a while now I've had a sort of woosh/resonance around 1,200-1,600 RPM usually around when it changes gear. It doesn't sound like it's gearbox related as it comes from towards the front of the vehicle. Initially I thought it could be turbo related but it seems very odd as it's not a whine noise. I'm starting to think it's possibly air or boost leak related but don't have any codes thrown up or any limp mode in anyway.

Anyone had this or any ideas?

The splash / heat sheild under the gearbox can resonate and make this kind of noise. Loosening and retightening the securing bolts can fix it or putting a thin layer of sound deadening sheet between it and the 'X' brace under the box fixed it for me. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Does it happen when it is cold or only up to temperature?

Both but more noticeable when warmed up.

Anyone have any ideas? Sound is very similar to the noise a snorkel would make.

Does it do it in sports mode?

To avoid speculation just take it to a garage and get them to do smoke tests on the intake upstream and downstream of the turbo. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
