Better happening then rather than when out on the road. |

Best to replace the other side as well if the leak was age related rubber deterioration. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

I was apprehensive until I found your guide - ‘First thing to say about the front strut replacement on the later 4.4 TDV8's is that it's much easier that anyone might expect. We are talking about undoing five nuts on the wheel, three nuts on the strut, a small brass nut for the air, a couple of torx screws and three nuts up top! That's it!!’ Have to say it’s one of the easiest jobs I’ve done!! 1972 Series 3 full of character 1985 90 pick up went anywhere 1992 90 Exported 2007 L322 that was an experience 2010 D4 more versatile than a Swiss army knife, now gone 2011 L322 4.4 VSE |

I have been thinking this, but where do you stop? Just the other side or all four corners?? 1972 Series 3 full of character 1985 90 pick up went anywhere 1992 90 Exported 2007 L322 that was an experience 2010 D4 more versatile than a Swiss army knife, now gone 2011 L322 4.4 VSE |

Just the other side is enough. Rears are much less of a concern. It's not a question of IF, but WHEN the other side will go the same way. On top of this, we are talking about the equivalent of the springs and shockers on a 'normal' car in one unit. You really ought to do both sides at the same time. ![]() ![]() |

These are one of the easiest things I’ve done on the car, I changed each side on mine in 30 mins from wheels off to wheels on, did one side in my lunch break at work in the rain so was glad it was fast!

I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was which partially offset the cost. With the benefit of hindsight I’d have just changed the bags. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

You two were lucky, those 2 bottom bolts can be a bit troublesome to say the least, as can one of the ball joints.

Price of a pair or front struts with variable damping is not at all cheap though. Where did your seals leak when you tried it? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Yes- I must admit I was expecting a fight from these, but they came off first time, I didn’t undo any ball joints luckily 2009 (2010 MY) 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE 2005 BMW E63 645ci 2024 Porsche Macan |
