Was planning on changing my gearbox oil and filter, stuck it in off road height, axle stands etc ready to go, thought I’ll just check the oil temp on the GAP tool and as I did a big rush of air from the front right and down it went, air bag had a sudden failure,

A little reminder I thought to always stop and think before ‘just having a quick look’ under these beasts

On a brighter note the old one came off fairly quickly (following JMCs guide) and I managed to get a replacement on a Saturday delivery from advance factors!

Both fronts on mine were perished equaly badly and so replaced both when one got a leak

Just the other side is enough. Rears are much less of a concern.

It's not a question of IF, but WHEN the other side will go the same way. On top of this, we are talking about the equivalent of the springs and shockers on a 'normal' car in one unit. These are one of the easiest things I’ve done on the car, I changed each side on mine in 30 mins from wheels off to wheels on, did one side in my lunch break at work in the rain so was glad it was fast!

I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was which partially offset the cost. With the benefit of hindsight I’d have just changed the bags. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

You two were lucky, those 2 bottom bolts can be a bit troublesome to say the least, as can one of the ball joints.

Re changing bag, also troublesome to achieve a sealed bag ime...

The price of a full strut is worth it, rather than messing about...

Price of a pair or front struts with variable damping is not at all cheap though. Where did your seals leak when you tried it? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
