Cold Turkey over, think I've found my next one!

Sold my TD6 a couple of weeks ago on here and have been suffering from Fattie deprivation Shocked Whilst its fun driving the other cars/vans there is something very calming about being in a FF Laughing

Was struggling to find the spec I wanted so even went and looked at a '15 plate Grand Cherokee (sacrilege I know) which was really good VFM but just didn't have the presence of a Fattie.

Anyway, put a deposit down on a '61 plate 4.4TDV8 AB with design pack in Ipanema. Only 1 owner from new with full MDSH and all the invoices to back it up hopefully. 80K so should have a few miles left before big bills Rolling Eyes and has had the turbo drain mod done and all belts and pulleys replaced.

Picking it up next week hopefully so will update with more details when I get my hands on it but here's a taster....

Assuming all goes OK next week its maiden voyage will be to the Western Isles of Scotland and back Shocked Shocked Shocked

TD6 to 4.4 TDV8 is a huge step up - be careful with your right foot or you will scare yourself Laughing

Well done Thumbs Up

Lol, when I took it for the test drive I was being pretty careful so didn't really exploit it apart from a couple of quick blasts to check for oil smoke/turbo drain issue - although TBF my TD6 was chipped and really went well Laughing

Mind you, I did drive to the dealer in my Mustang so all things are relative Rolling with laughter

The most noticeable difference was how smooth the transmission was compared to the TD6 Thumbs Up

Cheers,

Paul, one thing to acquaint yourself with before it catches you out & scares you Shocked put the car in reverse up a hill and build up a little turbo pressure (even use a little left foot braking) until the waste gates start to chatter like an old 80's rally car!

Sent me straight to the dealers the first time i experienced it! Scared the bejeebers out of me! And thats takes some doing!

Good luck with the new car Paul! Thumbs Up

BTW......you'll need to change your footer from: "Currently looking for an '11 onwards TDV8 SE or AB" to "Currently looking for a service manual for an '11 onwards TDV8 SE or AB" Whistle

That was a good move.......one I didn't make myself......3 IID's later Big Cry

Remember you'll need to activate your IID on the new car with Patrick and the guys at GAP before you can "interrogate ze car" Thumbs Up

Though an unactivated IID may be able to give you some information, but not the full monty.

Yep, I think it will let you read all the codes but not access configuration etc - but once I have the car I can get the "activation code" of the IID and then get GAP to send me the other bit Thumbs Up 2011 TDV8 AB
