Seat Arm Rest Fix Anyone?

Hi all, the drivers seat arm rest has lost its tension so will just fall rather then lower slowly when lifted to put my seat belt into the buckle and height adjustment is very limited so assume the previous owner used to push down on it and has either bent or broker something inside?

Anyone have this happen, what did you do to fix, how does it remove from the side of the seat?

Thanks

Carl

Tension ?

Mine just has a dial on the front end that you turn to set the position it stops at when you lower it......

Sorry, what Im trying to describe is the mechanical motion you can feel if you had the rest upright out of the way then pull it down to use as an arm rest, its gone floppy and just drops down.

The turning adjustment for the height doesn’t adjust it very well, think the bar down the rest has broken or something?

I'll have to test mine - I never really move it - but I guess if it's different to the passenger side then there's a problem

Passenger side has a nice light pressure feel to gently lower it down but doesnt continue to fall if you take your hand off it, mine just flops to the low point thats its set to, no or very little resistance

If you can't fix it, then these may be worth a punt to butcher.....

I was looking at those seats earlier strangely enough, will look around the rest over the weekend see if it becomes clear how to remove it?

Laughing Those seats have to be close to worthless once you realise the airbags deployed.....

It does look like a proper faff to change though if you need to take the whole seat out, which you probably do Big Cry

This is L322 info on armrests, but it might be similar to L405?

Happened on our discovery. Just tighten the bolt up that holds it on the seat.

The T27 was rock solid so think the mechanism inside must be broken and its made the arm rest a bit floppy, will live with it for now

Thanks everyone Thumbs Up

Carlos, if you have the necessaries? Remove the securing screw and the armrest simply pulls off... If you look at this video

It should give you an idea how the mechanisms work inside Thumbs Up
