I actually prefer the black plastic ones. The metal ones just seem too big and bulky by comparison.

I have the same issue. I have the armrest off, and something is rattling around inside - I assume broken. How do I get inside? Is it fixable?

I believe the answer is no! And they cost £400-500 to replace. I am going to attempt to buy secondhand on eBay and reuse my covers..

I have removed the armrest. Does anyone know how to remove the two side trims? I can get them part way off, and then nothing.

The leather top trim slides forwards and then lifts off. Just give it a good tap from the back. Don't think the sides can be removed. L405 SV Autobiography LWB SDV8, finished in Aston Martin China Grey by ETO division.
